DESIGN SYMPHONY (previously known as Blue J Marketing & Design) was founded by Joey Coleman in 2002. Based in the trendy neighborhood of Adams Morgan in the United States’Äô capital city, DESIGN SYMPHONY serves clients from a variety of industries in locations throughout the United States and around the world. About Us - Symphony Members Joey Coleman - Chief Experience Composer Joey specializes in creating unique, attention-grabbing customer experiences. From outreach materials, to packages, to events, to promotions, Joey works with businesses and individuals seeking to provide their clients with a memorable experience. Joey’Äôs greatest talent lies in formulating creative solutions that build buzz around products and services. He is known for his ability to generate ’Äúcool ideas’Äù and then build implementation plans to turn these ideas into business practices. Joey developed his narrative skills as a trial attorney representing clients throughout the country from his law firm based in Iowa. Prior to practicing law he served as Associate Director of Member Services at The Corporate Executive Board (NASDAQ: EXBD) working with senior vice-presidents of sales and chief information officers at Phillips Electronics N.A., Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida, Tampa Electric Co. (TECO) and Michelin N.A. His communications and messaging skills were further honed when he served in the ’ÄúPending Issues’Äù section of The White House Office of Counsel to the President during the Clinton Administration. He formerly held positions with both the United States Secret Service and the Central Intelligence Agency. Joey's design palette and sense of adventure is augmented by travels to over 34 countries on five continents. He has jumped out of a perfectly functioning airplane, raced along the Great Wall of China, juggled in front of the Taj Mahal, sang long songs on the Ponte Vecchio, goose-stepped to mock the soldiers in Red Square, and ridden a mountain bike down a volcano - although it remains a debate as to whether he rode the bike or the volcano rode him! Joey received a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame (Dean’Äôs List Honors) and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (Dean’Äôs Fellow). Joey currently serves on the National Advisory Council for the Creative America Project (Chicago, IL) and the Board of Directors for the Washington Men's Camerata (serving as President for 2005-2007). He previously served on the Alumni Board of Directors for the George Washington University Law School - founding and leading the alumni mentor program for four years. Joey also sings first tenor with the GRAMMY-nominated Washington Men's Camerata. Joey's design and artwork has been displayed in museums, featured in juried shows, and graced publications in the U.S. and abroad. He is a regular speaker at national conferences and has taught courses at both the college and graduate school level. Recent appearances include the Seventh Annual ColdFusion Conference (CFUNITED), the Learning Immersion For Entrepreneurs Conference (L.I.F.E.), the Capitol Creativity Network, and the George Washington University Masters in Business Administration Program.
